Day 1: From Marrakech to Ouarzazate
Depart Marrakech in the morning, crossing the picturesque Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy the stunning views and stop for photos. Visit the historic Kasbah of Telouet and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Ben Haddou, a famous fortified village. Arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon, known as the “Gateway to the Desert”. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: From Ouarzazate to the Dades Gorges
After breakfast, visit the impressive Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate. Continue through the Valley of the Roses and the Skoura Oasis, known for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Arrive in the impressive Dades Gorges in the afternoon. You will be surrounded by spectacular rock formations and can enjoy a short hike or explore the area. Overnight in Dades Gorges.
Day 3: Dades Gorges to Erg Chebbi Desert (Merzouga)
Depart Dades and drive through the beautiful Todra Gorges, with towering canyon walls providing a spectacular backdrop. Continue your journey to Merzouga, passing through the towns of Erfoud and Rissani, known for their fossils and local markets. In the afternoon, arrive at the Erg Chebbi dunes for a camel trek across the desert, enjoying a fascinating sunset over the dunes. Spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
Rise early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over Erg Chebbi’s dunes. After a hearty breakfast, depart for Fes via Errachidia, Tizi Ntlaghmat, and Midelt. Enjoy a barbecue in Zaida with mint tea, stop in Azrou to observe monkeys, pass through Ifrane, concluding your memorable Marrakech to Fes journey.
