Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora
Depart from Marrakech and cross the Tizi n’ Tichka pass while enjoying magnificent views of the High Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. Stop for lunch and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Ben Haddou, which sits on a hill along the Ouarzazate River. This fine example of southern Moroccan architecture has served as the setting for more than 20 films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, and Gladiator. You will continue to Zagora through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley and reach the Tinfou Desert. Here you will trek a camel through the desert and spend the night in a bivouac.

 

Day 2: Zagora – Agdez – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Wake up to a spectacular desert sunrise and have breakfast. Bivouac hikers will return by camel and continue to Ouarzazate and return to the High Atlas Mountains. Arrived in Marrakech in the early afternoon.
